'Found Objects' A4 Gel Print Framed
‘Found Objects’ explores the hidden layers of life, both in the natural world and within ourselves. This print, created using shells from Bundoran, Co Donegal, and other objects found washed ashore, reflects on the mental health struggles that often remain unseen, much like the treasures and debris buried beneath the sea’s surface. The delicate imprints of shells and sea-worn objects capture the tension between fragility and endurance, symbolising how people, despite the invisible weight they carry, continue to persevere. The textured depth of the print mirrors the emotional layers we navigate, highlighting the difficulty of knowing what lies beneath the surface. Through ‘Found Objects’, I invite viewers to reflect on the unseen battles many face, encouraging empathy and recognition of the beauty in resilience.
