In December 2022 I had a two week residency at the Leitrim Sculpture Centre in Manorhamilton to work on developing my printmaking practice and spend more time in the print studio.
During this time I worked on lino prints and creating engaging social media content showing the printmaking process. Click here to see one of my process reels.
Leitrim Sculpture Centre: Printmaking Residency 2022
Thanks to the support of Culture Moves Europe, in July 2023 I spent two weeks at Pig Prints Print Studio in Milan, Italy learning a variety of printmaking techniques from master printmaker Guido Pigni.
This experience allowed me to learn etching, drypoint and aquatint which varied from my previous experience in Ireland with lino printing and screenprinting.
An edition of an etching I produced at Pig Prints was used in the ‘Postmarked’ overprint print exchange project between the Manorhamilton Print Group and the Ottawa-Gatineau Printmakers Connective later that year.
Culture Moves Europe: Pig Prints Print Studio Residency, Milan, Italy - July 2023
In early 2024, alongside Playwright, Writer & Theatre-Maker Treasa Nealon, we were awarded the Glens Arts Centre and Leitrim Sculpture Centre Creative Exchange Residency.
For this project across eight weeks we facilitated a number of Youth Arts workshops mixing together creative writing, theatre making, sound recording, film and visual art. The theme of the project was ‘The Legends of An Dobharchu’ based on a local Leitrim legend. The residency culminated in an exhibition in the Glens Arts Centre.
